Vision Community Church of Warwick is organizing a winter coat drive for the homeless of New York City.
“For thousands of men and women, the holiday season will not bring presents under the tree or evenings spent sipping cider by the fire with friends and family,” said Therese Settle, organizer of the mission. “Instead, they will feel blessed to have a cup of soup now and then and a coat to help keep them warm, because life on the street is bitterly cold and terribly lonely.”
Vision is asking the community to donate gently used warm clothing. Items needed are: warm winter coats--large or extra large; sweatshirts-hooded are great/sweatpants; warm gloves or hats; blankets/bedspreads; and sleeping bags.
These items can be dropped off between 9 AM and noon on December 12th and 19th at Vision’s new worship location – Park Avenue School on the corner of Forester Ave and Route 17A in Warwick. For more information call 845-986-4333 or email connect@visiblechurch.org.
