During the month of November, Vision Community Church will exhibit the work of artist and illustrator John Gould, along with the photography of his son, William Gould. A reception with William Gould will be hosted by Vision Community Church on November 7th from 11:15 – 2:00. Refreshments will be served.
John Gould (1906-1996) is one of the regions best known illustrators and painters whose career spanned seven decades. His work covers the days of the pulp paper magazines, the Saturday Evening Post of the 1940’s, advertising art of the 40’s and 50’s, and Hudson Valley art in the 70’s through the early 90’s. John Gould taught painting and drawing at Pratt Institute for 22 years and co-founded the Bethlehem Art Gallery in Cornwall with his wife, Mary Gould.
Their son, William Gould, captures the beauty of the Hudson Valley in his photography of landscapes and florals. An expert picture framer and frame restorer, William has over 40 years of experience in the field and has exhibited extensively in the Hudson Valley region.
